Bloom View

Bloom View is a multifunctional app designed for floral designers, staff, event planners, and customers. The app allows users to create digital designs, view individual products needed for designs, share designs and quickly generate product lists.

project overview

The problem

Florists and customers are lacking high tech, standardized tools to communicate visual designs and organize information to effectively execute those designs.

The goal

The goal of this project was to build an app that can be used by florists and customers to communicate ideas and streamline day-to-day functions of a florist’s business.

user research

Problem statement

Anthony is a floral assistant who needs a product list available in both text and images because his work requires accurate retrieval of products and his written literacy is limited.

initial design

Our initial goals for the design were to create something highly visual which could be easily utilized by language learners, users with limited written literacy, and users on the go in a busy shop or market.

We decided to focus on the feature of generating a product list from a design. This feature is important for floral purchasers and shop staff like our persona Anthony. Users reported it was helpful to be able to take a design and then quickly view the types and quantities necessary to create it.

Finally, we wanted users to be able to share their lists and designs easily both within and across platforms.

usability research

Accessible color

Our color palate needed to be updated for greater visual accessibility.

Text Definition

We improved design by making important text more salient with white boxes and bold text.

final design

Mockups

High-fidelity mockups were redesigned using findings from the usability study. Including adjustments to color and user flow.
